Warped '09, My Honest Opinions.

Let me start off by saying MERCI to sisterface, aka breesays. And Luis Mendoza.

They were kind enough to put me and my friend Joey on the guest list for Warped, with VIP.

I couldn't be more thankful. This was my first time at Warped.

And my last.

NUMERO UN: The bands aren't worth it. (I'm glad I got in for free, because there's no way I would pay to see these bands.) Ooh, maybe that sounds a little harsh, but it's the truth.

The majority of the bands that played in Minnesota seemed like "sceney" bullsh*t bands that people listen to only because they know other kids who do.

Exceptions:

NeverShoutNever: NSN is probably the band I'd give most kudos to. NSN keeps it real.
Escape The Fate: I was never the biggest fan, but I like 'em. Didn't get to see them (because I was pleasing Joey by waiting an hour and a half for the Millionaires signing), but I heard them playing my favorite song by them. In case you're wondering, that's "Situations."
Millionaires: I didn't listen to them before I came back to Minnesota this summer, but this is Joey's favorite band, therefor he is constantly listening to them. I never thought I'd say this, BUT, I felt they put on the best performance. They actually danced and stuff. But let's not mention how they were completely wasted, and how there's a real good chance they were lip syncing. So, I guess they're not really an exception, are they?

Maybe it was because I was having indigestion problems, which caused me to follow my group wherever they went, waiting behind the crowd, where I felt it was a safe distance from peoples' pushing and shoving. But still, I was trying my best to keep a positive attitude about everything, and I refused to ruin other peoples' day, just because I had the feeling that there was a dead fetus lodged somewhere inside of me. I didn't see many bands. But. That was alright.

Maybe I sound old when I ask you if brokeNCYDE or Breathe Carolina is real music. Or maybe I just don't like that kind of music. I mean, don't get me wrong, I went through my brokeNCYDE phase. A little over a year ago. It didn't last long.

I like bands like Placebo. Sonic Youth. Matt and Kim. Bright Eyes. The Black Ghosts. The Dresden Dolls. Led Zeppelin. Fall Out Boy. The Killers. Gogol Bordello. Korn. The Black Lips. Modest Mouse. Stuff like that. (Holla atcha gurl if y'know what I mean.)

NUMERO DEUX: This might not have much to do with Warped, but I spent that whole day pleasing my friends, doing what they wanted to do, all that jazz. Despite me being sick. I only went for Joey in the first place. He wanted me to go. I thought I'd make him happy, since this will be my last time in Minnesota. I got him in for free. I don't recall any thanks, or anything. Just the group I went with nearly ignoring me all day, and that night, because I was coming off as being bitchy, or moody. Wouldn't you expect that from someone who got one hour of sleep the night before, ate one blueberry muffin all day, didn't drink much, spent all day pleasing other people, despite feeling like you were carrying a dead fetus in your stomach, without getting a simple "thank you?"

So, I'm just saying, when a band that lip syncs is first on my list of bands at Warped, what the hell is happening to Warped? Or music in general?

And I just found out not only that Joey and I are on the guest list,

I'm pretty stoked.

But I'm a Warped n00b, so I honestly don't know the case about these VIP passes.

I need some explanations, please and thank you.

I saved a kitten's life yesterday!

It's an orange tabby.

I had to cut open the sac dealio it was in,

because Marley, Joey's cat, was too busy eating the like, third or fourth afterbirth.

It. was. intense.

I vote this gives me rights to call this kitteh mah own.

But. I'm kind of pretty much on vacation.

I don't live here. Anymore.

I live like, one thousand seven hundred something miles away.

In Vegas.

So. I'm thinkin' Joey... should make a roadtrip down to Vegas during xmas break.

And BAM. That's my gift. My littlebaby kitten that won't be as littlebaby anymore.

Iunno whatchu think, but I think it's a good idea.

that was the last time i was on buzznet. no srsly.

my, my, how things have changed. i've been so distracted and preoccupied lately. because i love my school more than life itself. probably literally. i go to LVA. Las Vegas Academy (of International Studies & Visual, and Performing Arts). it's really the only great thing about vegas. vegas sucks in general. lva is like.... hogwarts. it's fuckin' magical.

i'm still a french major. i miss art. nearly all i think about is art nowadays. i'm considering double-majoring in junior year. but i'm not sure. because junior year is a pretty scary year. but, i don't exactly want to major in french forever. four years of frenchness? please, no. plus. i've recently had these wonderful ideas as to what i want to do with my career.

i know i'm indecisive. but if i decide to go with these ideas, and i don't get myself back into art soon, it'll be a whole lot harder later on. and it's not like i'm gonna go into a french-related career, like, ever.

gahk.

actually, i'm supposed to be doing my stupid english bullshit right now. and my french history homework dealio. and. i'm supposed to be getting ready for bed, so i can lay down as soon as i'm done with all that. but. i'm pretty withdrawn from the world as of right now.

i seriously couldn't focus if my life depended on it. aaacccckkkk.

so todaay, my art teacher asked me why im not an art major.

and she told me if i was ever interested, to let her know.
heh. i think im almost considering it.
buut.... what about my two year contract with french? /:
and i have to consider how i used to be an art major, and how that went.
also, im a perfectionist, and i like to work at home rather than at school.
and ive always gotten frustrated when people tell me to draw, and such.
cause i like to draw what i want, when i want.
i told her all that. but she still says she'll help me transfer if i want to.

im really confused,
cause now i dont know what i want.
